The festive season of Odisha begin with Ganesh Puja

Bhubaneswar: August 25: Today is Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the greatest festivals of Odisha. It is being celebrated not only in educational institutions, but also every home of the state besides markets, lanes and different parts of the city. The city and village streets look colourful like every year as the students of each age group come up wearing colourful dresses and all. Not only by the students, Lord Ganesh is worshipped by most of the families as God of Wisdom and Good Fortune.
Like other years, hundreds of Idols of Lord Ganesh are being installed in twin city Cuttack-Bhubaneswar. Puja pandals are seen decorated with different concepts of current issues to attract the people. An 18-ft Ganesh idol with 21 heads and 42 hands in Bhubaneswar has been the talk of the town and is expected to draw a large number of visitors
Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations will continue for 12 days in most parts of the state including Khurda and Talcher.
