Cuttack, May 17: In a shocking incident, for nearly seven hours a person named Pranakrushna Muduli, a worker, was stuck inside a concrete pipe at the pumping station near the State Police signal headquarters.
Muduli who is a worker at the pumping station had gone to the tank to clear a blockage in the pipe. In the meanwhile another worker unaware of Muduli’s presence switched on the Pump House motor, thus accidentally discharging water that pushed Muduli inside the pipe.
Though the pipe was about 2.5 feet of width,Muduli was unable to move and thus blocked and couldn’t come out. After being informed, the police ODRAF and the fire safety officials reached the spot. The forces continuously supplied oxygen inside the pipe to keep her alive. It took the ODRAF team over 6 hours to drill the land and the pipe and take Muduli out safely. He was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
CM Naveen Patnaik expressed his deep heartfelt thanks to the ODRAF team for their successful rescue mission along with prayed for quick recovery of Muduli.
