Bhubaneswar, Sept 3: Attributing the Biju birth centenary celebration and on the completion of 80th year of formation of the Odisha state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated 1000 Anganwadi centers to the people here and launched the Biju Kanya Ratna Yojana in a video conferencing at a state level function held at the State Secretariat. He also released a documentary on the services provided to the Anganwadi centers under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS).
Also he launched booklets and blueprint on 1000 Anganwadi centres which he dedicated to the people today. By doing this, he highlighted the fact that Anganwadi is the main center of the village for providing health and nutrition services to pregnant women, ailing mothers and adolescent girls and infants. He further went on to state that out of 71,306 Anganwadi centers in Odisha about 31175 have their own building while construction of 15,650 buildings is ongoing construction. Regarding the Biju Kanya Ratna Yojana, the Chief Minister said that Angul will be the first one where the scheme will be initially introduced, and then it will move on to Dhenkanal and Ganjam districts for three years beginning from 2016-17.
A video conferencing also carried out between the CM and the beneficiaries of Angul, Dhenkanal, Malkangiri, Ganjam and Mayurbhanj districts. Woman and Child Development minister, Usha Devi, Panchayati Raj minister, Arun Kumar Sahu, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Additional Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and Directors of concerned departments were among the eminent personalities present at the event.
