Bhubaneswar: International repute sand artist Mr.Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a sand sculpture of ‘Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi’ at Puri Sea Beach, Odisha on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, which is 12 ft. high and made with 20 tons of sands and 48 hours labour. Through this art, he gives the message to the nation to fulfill the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and lead the country towards a Clean India. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi made the cleanliness and sanitation an integral part of Gandhian way of life. In remembrance to GandhiJee’s words, Prime Minister Sj. Narendra Modi started ‘Swachh Bharat Abhijan’(Clean India Mission) campaign on Father of Nation’s 145th Birth Day i.e. on 2nd October’2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi. The artiste also intends to remind the people of the nation to accomplish the vision of ‘Clean India’ by 2nd October’2019, the 150th Birth Day of Mahatma Gandhi as desired by Government of India.
