Bhubaneswar, Aug 3: Boudh district BJP unit has called for a 12 hour bandh in the district on Thursday, by demanding arrest of BJD workers involved in the attack on BJP activists on July 29.
Soumitri Nayak, district BJP president, addressed the media and said that it has already been six days since the incident happened, but no action has been taken by the police. Protesting such type of action of the police BJP will observe a 12 hour bandh tomorrow.
During the bandh, all business establishments, educational institutions, banks, governments and private offices will remain closed and also the vehicular movement will be prohibited as a mark of protest. BJP has also requested the people for their support during the bandh to make it success, Nayak further informed.
Previously, Prashant Kumar Jagdev, BJD MLA of Begunia and his supporters had thrashed BJP activists for showing black flags to Food Supply and Consumer Welfare minister and Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) president, Sanjay Dasburma at Manamunda in Boudh, while he was on his way to attend a protest rally for Mahanadi incident which was organized by the BYJD.
