New Delhi, March 5: A 15-year-old girl, who was honoured during Republic Day for her contribution to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, has challenged Jawahar Lal University ( JNU) students’ union president Kanhaiya Kumar for open debate over freedom of expression.
She also advised Kanhayiya Kumar to think before making any statement and to avoid using abusive language against the Prime Minister who was elected by the citizens of India.
Jahnavi Behal who invited Kanhaiya for debate is a student of DAV Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar.
She is also an active member of an NGO Raksha Jyoti Foundation and was honoured on Republic Day for her contribution in many projects including Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Jahnavi said the constitution gives us freedom to express, but it does not mean that we can cross limits. Kanhayiya Kumar and others have been misusing the fundamental right for their political gain.
“What has happened in JNU campus in the name freedom of expression is not tolerable for any Indian. The students were raising anti-India slogans, when armymen were sacrificing their lives while fighting against Pakistan sponsored terrorists, ”said Jahnavi.
“The student leaders for their political gain have been indulged in mud-sledging and using abusing language against Prime Minister, who is elected by citizen of India. Their act will malign the image of India in whole world,” she added.
Jahnavi Behal has raised several public issues in the past. Recently, she had filed a writ in Punjab and Haryana High court against adult movies and porn content on social networking sites.
She also appeared in the court in her school dress. The high court had pronounced judgment in her favour. She had also taken the matter of road blockage of various organizations to court.
