Rayagada, Aug 29: Protesting the incident of the alleged death of two tribal in Rayagada district due to consuming mango kernel gruel, the Congress would gherao the Rayagada district Collector’s office on Monday.
To investigate the incident, a team headed by Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Senior Congress Leader and Chandrasekhar Majhi, MLA of Kotpad, had visited the village on Sunday and met the family members of the two deceased at Sipijodi and Kashanadora villages.
Apart from this, a seven-member BJP team led by Shiba Shankar Ulaka, Rayagada district president, also visited Kashipur village on Sunday to review the matter.
Notably, on Saturday it was reported that after consuming mango kernel gruel, two persons had allegedly died and six persons had been affected severely in Sipijodi village, Rayagada.
However, denying the allegation, Muralidhar Swain, District Sub Collector on Sunday had said that the two deaths at the Sipijodi village were due to some other reasons and not consumption of mango kernel gruel. He further stated that, Ranjan Kumar Majhi, 13 years old had died due to fever and Shiva Majhi, 80 years old might have died due to heart stroke or any other cause
