Bhubaneswar: May 02: With 2411 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours, the total number of COVID-19 cases in India has risen to 37,776, as informed by Health Ministry. Also, 71 more deaths reported in the country in last 24 hours and the total death toll stands at 1223.
10,017 cases have recovered from the disease and number of active cases in India reached 26,535.
Maharashtra remained the worst hit state with 11,506 coronavirus cases and death toll jumped to 485. The second most affected State is Gujarat and it has 4,721 positive COVID-19 cases as on Saturday, followed by Delhi with 3,738 cases, Madhya Pradesh with 2,719 cases,Rajasthan with 2,666 cases and Uttar Pradesh with 2,455 cases.
Among South Indian States, Tamilnadu has 2,526 cases, followed by Andhra Pradesh with 1,525 cases and Telengana with 1057 cases.
