Visakhapatnam, April 22 : One of the leading lady Maoist Korra Gasi alias Jhansi surrendered before the Superintendent of Police (rural) on Thursday with two other Maoist militia members Buturi Appa Rao and Velusuri Lakshmaiah.
She was involved in the abduction case of the then collector of Malkangiri Veenel Krishna and 24 other cases, which are pending against her in different police stations of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chhatisgarh.
Suffering from different ailments is the reason for her surrender, as said by Jhansi to Media. She alleged that, Maoist leadership did not allow her to go the city for treatment, which became major cause of frustration for her and further she decided to surrender.
Korra Gasi (27) alias Jhansi of Koyyuru area in Visakhapatnam agency was carrying a Rs 4 lakh cash reward on her head. The reward amount will be given to her, the SP said.
Jhansi has been associated with the CPI (Maoists) since 2007, and was involved in 24 offences in Visakhapatnam district, including a number of encounters with the police, Police said.
Jhansi was the area committee member of East Visakha Joint Division, and primarily worked in Andhra Odisha Border areas.
