Bhubaneswar, July 1: Thursday turned out to be a day of darkness and mourning for the Odia Cine Industry. Hardly had the Industry come out of the fact that Papu Pom Pom arrested and sentenced to jail, that another shocking news came in the form of the sudden demise of the Producer and the President of the Odia Film Producers’ Association, Kusha Ranjan Patnaik, who breathed his last in an accident happened near Ram Mandir square, Bhubaneswar on Thursday night.
According to sources, the accident took place when he was crossing the road near Ram Mandir Square, a speeding bike hit him. Then he was taken to the hospital where doctor declared him dead.
The sudden demise of the famous came as huge shock to the Odia Film Industry.
The postmortem would be conducted today and the last ceremonial would be performed later today, sources informed.
Notably, producer Patnaik had produced Odia movies like ‘Kandhei Akhire Luha’, ‘Kehi Jane Bhala Lagere’, ‘Chocolate’ and Bengali film ‘Putuler Pratisodh’. Also he was the co-producer of mega serial ‘Toh Agana Ra Tulasi Mu’ and the producer of ‘Topae Sindura’.
