Malkangiri, Oct 10: A 24-hour ultimatum has been given by the Congress leader and former MP Pradeep Majhi on Monday to the State government to give information about the whereabouts of the 23 Japanese Encephalitis (JE) afflicted children who allegedly went missing from the district headquarters hospital (DHH) here.
Majhi threatened to file FIRs against the health minister and the secretary if no data is made available about these 23 children within 24 hours.
ADMO of the DHH, Dr Kalyan Sarkar said that due to lack of proper awareness, attendants of the kid patients take their child home. Hence, the hospital staff has been given the instruction to tell the people coming from villages for treatment to inform the hospital authorities before leaving the hospital.
However, Majhi has claimed to have evidence on the 23 JE afflicted children who have gone missing from the DHH as he has an audio clip of a conversation between the ADMO and a hospital official in this context.
