Berhampur, July 28: According to divisional forest officer of Berhampur, A K Behera, two snake charmers from Ankapalli, Andhra Pradesh, identified as Subba Rao and Kamba Raju were arrested by forest personnel from Sukunda village on Tuesday under the Odisha Wildlife Protection Act. They were presented in the court on Wednesday.

Five cobras, one of those dead, were seized from them by the forest personnel. Behera further said that the snakes were released into the Tamana forest.

Forest personnel have also seized some fake gemstones from them with the help of which they tried to convince people that the gemstones had been extracted from the head of snakes and had propitious values.
