Srabani departs for Rio Olympics from Bengaluru

Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: With the dream of achieving a gold medal in the Olympics for the nation as well as for the state, this Odia ace sprinter Srabani Nanda on Saturday left for Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to participate in the world international sports event.

Srabani left for Dubai on Friday night from Bengaluru from where she would be leaving for Rio. At the departure to Dubai, School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra visited her at the airport to wish her all success and support and also handed over CM Naveen Patnaik’s letter of luck and wishes for the Olympics.

Srabani will be representing India in the 200 m and 4X100 m relay event at the Olympics.
