Bhubaneswar, Aug 12: The 12 member inspection team of BJD will submit the spot assessment report regarding the projects taken up by the Chhattisgarh government on the upper catchment areas of Mahanadi River, to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday. A meeting, comprising of the members of the inspection team and three experts will be held today evening following which the report will be presented to the Chief Minister.
Allegation against the neighbouring State was made by the BJD team saying that all the information about the projects, which were asked by the team, had not been submitted by Chhattisgarh. Also, doubts about the facts given by Chhattisgarh regarding the projects on the Mahanadi River were voiced by the team.
Notably, 12-member team headed by Party Vice President Prasanna Acharya, had visited Chhattisgarh on August 9, to conduct a spot assessment of the on-going projects by the neighbouring State on Mahanadi River and had also held discussions with Water Resources Department officials and locals of Chhattisgarh about the projects.
