Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: A special session of the Odisha Assembly being held on Sep 1 is likely to approve the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill which is passed in both the Houses of Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, recently.
The decision to pass this nod was done in the Cabinet meeting at the State Secretariat on Tuesday in the presence of Odisha’s CM. All this was informed by Chief Secretary, AP Padhi to media. Assam is the first to approve the Bill. Last week, it was Bihar which became the first non-NDA state to approve it after Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar scored the virtues of the new tax regime.
As of now, six states have approved the Bill while the Gujarat State Assembly ratified when the Opposition Congress were absent on Tuesday.
