27 medical students expelled in Gwalior

Gwalior, April 13: The Gajra Raja Medical College (GRMC) administration expelled 27 students on Tuesday for allegedly using unfair means, including impersonation, during the entrance examination. The students belong to batches between 2006 and 2010.

According to sources, the students are Dinkar (2006 batch), Sanjay Jatav, Jitendra Kumar, Awdhesh Kumar Bajoria, Darshan Singh Khangar, Santosh Kumar Johri, Pradeep Jayant, Manish Singh Jatav and Gaurav Chaudhary (2008 batch), Amit Hariodh, Varun Sharma, Arvind Kumar Gupta, Shahwaz Naeem, Arvind Agnihotri, Shiv Pratap Pavaiyya, Rahul Sharma and Nitin Ken (2009 batch), Vikar Mahore, Dharmendra Shakya, Jitendra Tijoria, Rajveer Jatav, Badam Singh, Vikram Singh Raman, Jai Prakash, Devendra Gautam, Rakesh Jain and Satish Rajput of 2010 batch.

GRMC den Dr SN Iyengar said students have been expelled following endorsement by the college high power committee, which met to discuss the issue on Monday.

This matter was earlier referred to the CBI, which is investigating the PMT scam, to seek their inputs. The agency also confirmed the involvement of these students in fraudulent activities during the examination. The CBI in turn had taken over the investigation from an SIT which was probing the matter. The SIT had already charge-sheeted the 27 students.
