Dhenkanal, Sept 8: On Thursday morning, in a sad incident, the carcass of a baby elephant calf was found in a pond near Bampha village under Hindol forest range.
Reportedly, last night, to drink water from nearby pond, an elephant herd wandered into the village. Unfortunately, the baby elephant could not come out of the pond as it got trapped in the mud underneath.
As per sources, after the forest officials received the information, they rushed to the spot and seized the carcass of the elephant.
