3 Maoists Killed In An Encounter With Police In Odisha's Kalahandi District

Bhubaneswar: May 9: On Tuesday, three Maoists were killed in an encounter with police in the district of Kalahandi. As reported, the confrontation between police officers and extremists occurred in the wee hours of the morning in the Tapranga Reserved Forest within the Madanpur Rampur police limits in the Kalahandi district.

During the encounter, three Maoists were killed and a Deputy Superintendent of Police was severely injured.

The injured DSP was rushed to the Madanpur Rampur Hospital, from which he was transferred to the Bhima Bhoi Hospital in the Balangir district for treatment.

The anti-Maoist operation is significant in light of the April 26 Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh that resulted in the deaths of 10 District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel and a civilian driver.
