Kendrapara, Nov 14: On Saturday night the cops in an extremely inhuman way allegedly thrashed the family members of Niranjan Singh, the Kendrapada man who died due to his burn injuries after he attempted self-immolation. His family members were staging a protest ahead of the District Collector’s office on Saturday morning.
It’s stated that the police had dispersed them from the spot and Nayak’s body was forcibly sent to his residence. The protest was because of the extreme insult and negligence on the part of the police which Singh faced. The family members revolted keeping the body in front of the office of the Kendrapada Collector and also demanded a compensation of Rs 20 lakh along with a job to one of the family member and lastly the arrest of the Collector. Blaming the Collector for the death of her husband, Ranjita Singh lodged a complaint against him with the Kendrapara Town Police Station.
