Guwahati, Feb. 16 – A joint delegation of members of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Monday met Arunachal Pradesh Governor JP Rajkhowa at the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum staking claim to form the Government in the State.
A statement issued by the Arunachal Pradesh Raj Bhavan said this while adding that the delegation led by Kalikho Pul came with 22 Congress legislators, ten BJP legislators and two independent legislators.
“Member of the Assembly, Chowna Mein along with 4 other MLAs, also submitted a memorandum to the Governor stating that they are with Kalikho Pul. They reaffirmed their support to the leadership of Kalikho Pul to be the head of the Council of Ministers and that that may be sworn in at the end of the President’s rule in the State,” the statement said.
Further Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Tamiyo Taga, also came along with other ten BJP legislators and submitted a memorandum extending their unconditional support to Pul.
“In affirmation of this support to Kalikho Pul, we, the eleven members belonging to the BJP in the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, hereby sign this document and we urge you to kindly invite Kalikho Pul to form the Government in the State as soon as the Proclamation under Article 356 is revoked or whenever it ceases to operate,” the memorandum said.
