Panchayat Polls: Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand CMs to be BJP’s star campaigners: Odisha In-charge Arun Singh

Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: At the upcoming panchayat polls, the BJP is making all efforts to corner the BJD. The BJP’s list of star campaigners was amended for the second time as the party’s Odisha In-charge Arun Singh on Sunday stated that Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Raman Singh and Jharkhand Chief Minister, Raghubar Das will be the party’s star campaigners for the upcoming panchayat polls. He also informed the media that some other CMs of the other states and parliamentarians will be added into the list. The other new faces who found place in the list include former CM of Jharkhand Arjun Munda, Union minister Ram Kripal Yadav, Union Minister of State for Mines Vishnu Deo Sai, party’s Odisha in-charge Arun Singh and BJP national general secretary Soudan Singh. In all, 11 new faces have replaced some of the star campaigners for the ensuing elections. Those who are dropped from the saffron party’s list are Kuchinda MLA Rabi Nayak, chief spokesperson Sajjan Sharma, spokesperson Golak Mohapatra, Mohan Majhi and Parsuram Majhi.

Earlier, the saffron party have also made amendments in the list of star campaigners. First, Bijay Mohapatra and Dilip Ray, who are touted to be senior leaders of BJP, were not mentioned in the first star campaigners’ list and so the list issued by the saffron party was amended thus having names of both the leaders as star campaigners.

BJP State vice president Samir Mohanty said the party will field candidate in 854 zilla parishad seats in the state.
