Suspended BJD leader, Sabita Rout on 3-months leave; Vyasanagar municipality drama takes new turn

Jajpur, Jan 25: Four days after the no-confidence motion against Vyasanagar municipality chairperson got rejected in absence of councillors for voting, the civic body drama took a new turn as the chairperson and suspended BJD leader Sabita Rout went on leave for three months from today by handing over the office to the vice-chairperson of the 26-member municipality. In a letter to vice-chairperson, Subash Bal, which was copied to Jajpur Collector and Korei MLA, she mentioned that such a decision was taken for her health reason. Expressing hope on the vice-chairperson, she said that vice-chairperson Subash Bal could handle the office effectively.
