Bhubaneswar: A day after vigilance raids at the office and residence of Khariar Divisional forest officer (DFO) Sarat Chandra Panda on Tuesday, the Income Tax officials have today again raided his house and raided on a consecutive second day.
Evidence of more disproportionate properties have been found by the officials after searching his house at gouri nagar in Bhubaneswar and the other at Anantpur in Balasore district. With this he has been booked for tax evasion.
Acting on a complaint, of being alleged of baffling income tax and switching black money to white, the IT officials had conducted the raid at his houses at Balasore and Bhubaneswar.
The outcome to the raids showed that, Panda had deposited crores of money in different accounts after the demonetization and he has not also filed any income tax for the previous fiscal year.
To be noted, Odisha vigilance officials had conducted simultaneous raids at the office and residence of Khariar DFO Sarat Panda on Tuesday after getting a complaint about allegations of possessing disproportionate assets. Two teams of the state vigilance department raided his house at Gouri Nagar in Bhubaneswar and office at Khariar.
