Inclusive JOBFAIR for PWDs and Non-disabled Jobseekers

Bhubaneswar, Mar 3: Model Career centre ,VRCH, Bhubaneswar under Government of India, Ministry of Labour and Employment, DGE, District Skill Development Authority (DSDA) Khordha and Department of Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities(SSEPD), Government of Odisha jointly organised an “Inclusive JOBFAIR for PWDs and Abled Jobseekers” on 2nd March 2017 inside its VRCH Campus, located at Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar.

During the Job Fair, 41 reputed private companies of 13 different industry sectors such as Banking Finance Service Insurance (BFSI), Automobiles, BPO/IT/ITes, Electrical & Civil Engineering, Education, FMCD, Food Service, Health Care, Hospitality, Security, Retail, Sales & Marketing, has participated with more than 3,000 vacancies. The education qualification of Jobseekers varies from minimum of 8th pass to Post Graduation including Technical/Non Technical professionals, with the salary ranges from Rs. 5,500/- per month to Rs. 70,000/- per month. Companies have given preference to variant Jobseekers in age groups of 18-35 yrs and in few cases up to 40yrs. A preferred category of disability was locomotor disabilities.

During the event, companies like L&T Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, Annapurna Microfinance Pvt. Ltd, Renault (Unit of Gargson Group), AEGIS, Eureka Forbes, GUPTA Power, Devyani International Ltd for KFCs, Khandelwal(Akhshay) Group of Companies, 3S Motors, Kaapro Management, Sunseed Agro, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Co. Ltd., Tech Tricks Home Care, Osworld Technology, Flashdeal, Payik Sentinels, Aurora Management Pvt. Ltd., The WORLD Group, Adhikar Microfinance Pvt. Ltd., Siesta Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., STARK Groups, Saitechnopark Pvt Ltd, JYOTE Motors ( Maruti Suzuki), G4S Security, Indiglow, Services, Pvt. Ltd, Seohunk International LLP, www.0km.in, Insignia Management Pvt Ltd, Tiny Chef, WRAP UP, Planet Solutions, Innov Source, Tata Motors, The Chariot, LIC, Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd, People’s Forum, PNB Metlife etc. participated.

The Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) of District Skill Development Authority (DSDA) such as IL&FS, Gram Tarang, Skills Academy, SSEPL, EduBridge, AISECT, CIPET, George Telegraph, and Cafe Cofee Day(CCD) also participated with the skill training offerings to needy Jobseekers, which will also lead to employment generation.

During the event, Sri Niten Chandra, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, & Ms. Mansi Nimbhal, IAS, Director to Government, Government of Odisha, Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD), Shri Niranjan Sahu, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate, Khordha, Shri G Rajesh, IFS, Director, Directorate of Employment Dr. Minati Behera, State Commissioner for PWDs, Shri R.V. Shakhre, Dy, Director to Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment, SGE, Shri Alok Kumar Kar, Addl. Commissioner, BMC have visited the Job Fair. Students of Enactus –KIIT University, and Trainees of EDU-TEK, Bhubaneswar have extended support of Volunteers to manage the event for smooth facilitation of Interviews.

The entire Job Fair right from the beginning to end, was coordinated by Shri Asit Baran Pradhan, Regional Assistant Director (Employment), from District Skill Development Authority, Khordha, Government of Odisha, Sri J. Padmanav Rao, Young Professional, Model Career Centre-VRCH, Bhubaneswar and Shri Ram Kishor Sharma, Assistant Director (Employment), VRCH, Bhubaneswar.

Model Career Centre aims to organise more numbers of JOB FAIRs, in near future, with utmost sincerity and integrity so that more stakeholders can take the benefit of such platforms.
