Jharsuguda, Mar 3: Religious superstitions in Odisha continue to hit badly dad after day. In a recent happening, a girl identified as Sanjukta Jayapuria, was beaten to death by her relatives, who claim, of being possessed by Lord Brahma & Lord Vishnu, in Bijapali Village at Jharsuguda, last night.
Late last night, while Sanjukta along with her family were offering their prayers, two of her relatives (both stated to be girls) entered the house and assaulted her, and hit her till she succumbed to her death on the spot. The assaulters also thrashed her family members.
In this brutal consequences of religious superstitions, the irate villagers later locked the girls in a room and informed the police.
The Rengali Police along with a Scientific team reaching the spot, detained the duo, and a case has been registered on their name. While Sanjukta’s body was also recovered from the spot. In this case, the police has also detained the girls’ parents and another person. The investigation is on, and once its over the real truth may come out, said sources.
