Puri/Cuttack, Mar 7: Today the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) submitted an affidavit at the Orissa HC in which it notified the latter about the start of second layer grouting work of the eight damaged pockets of Jagamohan in Puri. After completing the grouting work by Thursday, ASI will hand over the repair work to the Works Department and the latter will then start installing the stainless steel portal frames. On the other hand, the HC has given orders to the ASI and the Odisha government to submit affidavit on the repair status till Mar 15. The next hearing on the case is on Mar 16. It may be mentioned here that the ASI Director General did approve the stainless steel portal frames plan proposed by the Srimandir technical core committee for Jagamohan and the Works Department also initiated tender process for the stainless steel portal frames plan. The estimated cost for it was recorded to be Rs 3 crore 71 lakh 71 thousand.
