4-year old dies of malnourishment in Keonjhar, Odisha

Keonjhar, May 2: Death of a 4-year old child due to malnutrition on Monday in Badambi Nahaka Sahi of Ghasipura block here has questioned the implementation process of various welfare schemes in the rural areas.

The child identified as Chumki succumbed to her death yesterday while her brother is still battling for his life. The parents too are suffering from malnutrition and poor health conditions because of poverty. Nakul Nayak the father of the children now has to depend on his brother who is now taking care of the family. Nayak has been diagnosed with TB and so as there is no one to earn in the family, Nayak’s family has to survive without food for days. They even do not have a ration card that ensures security to the poor.

On the other hand, the Odisha government still has no information about the condition of the family.
