Jharsuguda: May 05: Armed robbers looted over Rs 50 lakh from the Beheramal branch of Bank of India in Jharsuguda, Odisha. Sources said, 10 to 12 robbers having masks on their faces came on motorcycles with pistols and knives entered the bank and overpowered the branch-in-charge, employees of the bank and customers at gun point and put all of them into a room.
They looted the cash lying at the cash counter as well as whatever was there in the strong room. Immediately after collecting the cash, they fled away from the place. The miscreants were speaking in Hindi and Bengali language.
Though, no proper estimate has been done till now, the total amount may be over 50 lakhs, said by bank officials.
Jharsuguda SP Uma Shankar Dash and other senior police officials are investigating the crime. Police have sealed all exit points of the town to prevent the miscreants from escaping.
