Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: In a massive strike, Six members of a two wheeler theft gang were arrested late Saturday night by the twin city Commissionerate police from the capital.
According to sources, the Nayapalli police had arrested a member of the gang on Saturday. As per the information spilled by the person on intense action, the other five persons were also rounded up.
Identified as Niladri Nayak, Shankar Das, Gunu Pradhan, Subrat Pradhan, Bana Nayak, and Santosh Sethi, the accused hail from Ganjam. The police have recovered as many as 11 motorbikes from Salia Sahi and various other locations in Aska.
Gunu Pradhan has been identified as the mastermind of the gang. The members used to lift bikes from Bapuji Nagar, Chandrasekharpur, Master canteen area and hide them in Aska.
They were active in the city since last 2 years, said sources.
