Bhubaneswar: August 19: India reported 64,531 new COVID-19 cases today. Total number of cases detected so far in the Country rose to 27,67,273. Also, 1092 patients died in last 24 hours due to COVID-19 and with this, death toll due the disease reached 52,889.
According to the Health Ministry, 60,091 patients have recovered from the disease in last 24 hours, pushing the total number of recovered cases to 20,37,870. The recovery rate also improved further to 73.64 per cent.
This has also led to the declining Case Fatality Rate, which stands at a new low of 1.91% today.
6,76,514 cases are active in India.
