Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: Odisha government in full force in finalising eight new policies which would be unveiled during the Make in Odisha conclave that is scheduled to be held here between Nov 30 and Dec 2.
The new policies would be on MSMEs, tourism, textile and apparel industries, agriculture, food processing and petroleum industries, thus hoping, that over 500 industries from across the country and abroad would take part in the conclave. This was all informed by the Industries Minister, Debi Prasad Mishra. Meanwhile, industry experts feel that some other sectors with business potential, are likely to be in the focus of the State government and some MoUs are likely to be signed with some industries.
The conclave is being organised jointly by the Government of Odisha and the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP). The objectives of the conclave are to showcase manufacturing ecosystem in Odisha, highlight investment opportunities and elicit investment intention from the corporate. There will be activities including exhibition, exposure, networking, plenary sessions and sectorial sessions during the conclave.
It’s also stated that stalls of large companies operating in Odisha in the sectors like steel, aluminium, infrastructure, food processing, IT, textiles, petrochemicals and power will be set up to showcase newly emerging investment opportunities. The State Government has organised pre-conclave investor reach out events including road shows at Delhi, Kolkata, Pune and Hyderabad. A budget of around Rs 20 crore has been proposed for the conclave.
