The Odisha government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 3 per cent for its employees and pensioners ahead of Diwali. State employees currently receive 55 percent DA; this will rise to 58 percent, effective from July 2025. However, employees will receive the revised 58 percent DA in their October salary.

Dearness allowance increased by 58 per cent

According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a proposal to increase the dearness allowance for state government employees and pensioners by three per cent. The dearness allowance of state government employees is currently 55 per cent. From July 1, 2025, this dearness allowance will be available to the employees at the rate of 58 per cent. The increased 58 per cent dearness allowance will be paid in cash with the salary for October 2025.

 

8.5 lakh employees to be benefited

The central government increased dearness allowance for its employees during Dussehra. Now, before Diwali, the state government has also implemented this increase for about 8.5 lakh regular and pensioner employees, announcing a dearness allowance of 58 percent.
