Let's Create A Culture Of Learning And Skills That Fosters New Skills, Dreams And Aspirations: Dharmendra Pradhan

Bhubaneswar: November 28:  Odia children need to be prepared for the future. In the changing technology landscape, our efforts are to explore global knowledge through them. With this aim in mind, world-leading institutions, including Singapore’s GFTN, AIDF and National University of Singapore, have jointly launched a FinTech training program at SDI, Bhubaneswar, which is a welcome step, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Dharmendra Pradhan attended the “The Edu Dialogue – Future with Technology” event organized by Skill Development Centre and GFTN on Friday. He participated in the Sambad session and expressed his views.

Union Minister said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) are transforming the way we learn, work and communicate. It is not just a subject now; it has become part of our lifestyle, from audio communication to complex solutions, and it is being implemented everywhere.

We are now moving towards Industrial Revolution 5.0. Future technologies, especially 6G and quantum computing, will create a new identity in the coming days. To face this technological change, we need to create not just campuses but a culture of learning and skills that foster new heights, dreams, and aspirations. In this context, SDI Bhubaneswar’s determination to prepare our students for global competition is commendable.

Pradhan said that SDI Bhubaneswar is in a historically significant area, shaped by the legacy of the Paik Bidroha led by Bakshi Jagabandhu. This location represents a confluence of tradition and future aspirations.

He gave examples of the Konark Sun Temple, Puri Shree Mandir, and Bhubaneswar Lingaraj Temple. He said that these are not just monuments, but architectural art and scientific experiments designed by our ancestors. We have to plan for the future while keeping today’s needs in mind.

Shri Pradhan further said that Odisha will complete 100 years of its formation as a separate province based on language in 2036. Therefore, our goals for the next 10 years need to be clear. Our first goal is to create a developmental environment by 2035, where we will not only seek employment but also emerge as employers.

We have to prepare ourselves for this historic moment. We have to be ready for that time and present our sense of responsibility as Odias. To do this, we have to be brave and proud and bring prosperity and fulfilment through hard work.

The most crucial goal is social responsibility. Someone’s rights are fulfilled when someone takes responsibility. By providing nutritious food and caring for children suffering from malnutrition, we can form a healthy, prosperous, and developed Odisha. In this way, we can realise the dream of a developed India through a developed Odisha.

The state government’s Electronics and IT Department and the Singapore-based Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN) launched the ‘Integrated Global Financial Technology Enablement Hub’ (I-GFTCH) – Bharat Netra to help the youth of Odisha take full advantage of the 21st century in the field of FinTech.

The main goal of this centre is to train more than 7,000 students in the next five years in the field of technology, regulation and business. To take this important initiative forward, an interaction program was organised with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Pradhan interacted with students, staff, and trainers from across the country, including Odisha. During the interaction program at SDI, Bhubaneswar, Shri Pradhan received lab-made pens, SDI mementoes and handmade cookies from the students.
