Bhubaneswar, Feb 8: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi has asked the officials to ensure distribution of laptops to meritorious students in State by the start of the academic session as per the decision of the government. Padhi’s direction came during a high level review meeting at the State Secretariat on Saturday. “For that all the requisite preparations need to be completed by the stipulated time,” he instructed the officials.
Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) Director and IT Secretary Pradip Kumar Jena said during the 2015 academic year more than 15,000 laptops were distributed.
The tenders regarding purchase of the laptops will start from March itself so that the tender process should finish by the start of the academy year, then the students can be easily distributed the laptops.
The Odia language software will also be installed in the systems. Noted software firms have shown interest to be the distributing partners, he added.
