Bhubaneswar, March 13: Union petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has slammed the State government over skyrocketing potato prices across the State.
He alleged that the State government has appeared to have gone into a slumber and has no strategy to counter the scarcity of the kitchen essential.
“The State government has failed to control the situation miserably. Its ministers are only indulging in mudslinging and do not have any strategy to tackle the situation arising out of the scarcity. Setting up of Commission is not enough, he said.
Referring to the allegation and counter allegations of the ministers and shifting of blame on each other and the bureaucracy, Pradhan said, “The government has become a laughing stock only.”
He further added “The State Government is not taking adequate steps to solve problems rather it is looking for alternatives.”
Meanwhile, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) spokesperson Pratap Jena also reacted to the mudslinging among ruling party leaders and said the Ministers should be more responsible in dealing with price rise and should not pass the buck to the bureaucrats.
Notably, Minister Rout had alleged that since the bureaucrats are controlling the administration, they should also control the skyrocketing potato prices.
