Bhubaneswar, March 19 : Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra described the budget, as ‘dissapointing’.

Mishra said there is no substantial provision for the farmers or the general public.

“The allocation for irrigation in the budget will not be enough to meet the irrigation needs of the farmers in a state which is plagued by drought and dependent of rain. How can this government claim that it concerned about the welfare of the farmers,” he asked.

Mishra said it is strange that there is no mention about Lower Suktel and few other important irrigation projects in the State.

He claimed that Western Odisha has been neglected in the Agriculture Budget.

There is no provision for another Agiculture University in State, Mishra said.
