Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: Odisha government has assured safety of Lord Jagannath temple in Puri.

This was confirmed at a high level meeting attended by State Home Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy, Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjeev Marik, Crime Branch ADG Bijay Kumar Sharma and Law and Order ADG Bijayanand Jha on Odisha coastline security at state secretariat on Friday.

The officials discussed the issue with Union Cabinet Secretary through video conferencing.

Talking to media, Home Secretary Tripathy and Law and Order ADG Jha said there is no threat to the 12th century Hindu shrine.

Elaborate and adequate security arrangements have been initiated at the temple as part of security, they said.
