Bhubaneswar, June 2: On reviewing the performance of Labour and ESI department through the Chief Minister, the State Secretariat announced that the State Government will provide “Pucca House” to 50K construction workers in the next three years by spending Rs600 crore.
Labour and Employee’s State Insurance minister Prafulla Mallik informed about this. He stated that in 2015-16 the Orissa government provided aid worth rs.150 crore to 37,000 labour families.
It was revealed by him that 15 lakh workers have been registered in the state which is expected to increase to 25 lakh by 2019.
A 100 bed transit shelter will come up in five corporations in the state on the other hand, 50 bed transit shelters will come up at Jajpur, Paradip, Jharsuguda, Angul and Dhenkanal. Chief Minister advised the officials for accelerating the work of these shelters soon.
Minister Malik also informed, a pension scheme, of Rs 10 crore announced by Chief Minister in May for construction workers will be implemented shortly.
