Bhubaneswar: June 28: Commissionerate Police here Tuesday recorded a statement of Sharmistha, the budding actor who has brought serious casting couch allegations against six Ollywood directors and producers, under section 164 of IPC. Notably, her statement was recorded by Mahila Police under Section 161 of IPC. Twin City Police Commission YB Kurania said that a fresh statement was necessary considering the gravity of the allegations.
Sharmistha had filed a complaint at the Mahila Police station against the six directors and producers alleging they had misbehaved her on the pretext of providing opportunity in television and movies.
She had furnished Facebook and WhatsApp chats to back her claim. The Mahila Police on Monday served notices on six persons, including Bapi Jena, Chandi Parija, Subrat Nayak, Nihar Samal, Binni Samal and Tapas Sargharia.
The notices were issued to directors Chandi Parija and Tapas Sargharia, producer Bini Samal, her husband Nihar Samal, producer Subrat Naik and event manager Bapi Jena.
