Berhampur July 1: On Thursday night, most wanted criminal and an assistant to Former Congress MLA Ramesh Jena, Sunil Bisoi succumbed to bullet injuries on both the legs in a police encounter at Ambapua.
In the evening of the same day, Sunil along with his fellow mates were creating havoc in places like Dhipasahi, Goodshed road and Badakhemundi Sahi. As soon as police got a notice about this, a team of BN Pur Police immediately put a raid in that area and found the suspect there where he and his gang were planning out to commit crime.
As the police tried to attack on him, Sunil opened fire all around. In reply, the Inspector in Charge (IIC) of BN Pur Police Station, Ajay Mishra fired back at Sunil inflicting bullet injuries on his two legs.
A seriously injured Sunil was rushed to MKCG hospital. The other members of the gang however escaped from the area at the time of firing. Meanwhile, the police have formed three teams to nab the aides of Sunil. The police seized a pistol and five rounds of live bullets from Sunil’s possession.
