Bhubaneswar, July 2: Today Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) officials interrogated Prashant Kumar Dash, CMD of Seashore Group and his brother Prabhat Dash in connection with the multi crore chit fund scam in Jharpada jail, Bhubaneswar.
Sources informed that CBI interrogated Subhankar Nayak earlier, who had worked as a middle man between the firm and state’s political leaders, bureaucrats and police officers. CBI had also conducted a search operation at Nayak’s house in the city doubting to have connections with the Seashore Group chit fund scam.
A related development notifies that the Orissa High Court on June 28 had given a notice to the State government for filing a counter petition filed by M/s Seashore Securities Limited thus challenging the constitutional validity of Odisha Protection of Interests of Depositors Act of 2011.
The legislation demanded the State to immediately take necessary action against those stolen public money by initiating fake financial firms in 2013.
