Girl rescued alive after being taken away for about 50 kms in Mahanadi

Lakhanpur, Sep 15: A miracle happened when minor girl from Chhattisgarh was rescued being alive by two fishermen that too after one day.

She had swept away in river Mahanadi in Odisha on Tuesday. The minor girl hailing from Sarangarh area in Chhattisgarh was swept away while she was on a visit to Chandrahasini temple at Chandrapur in Chhattisgarh with her family.

Two fishermen belonging to Kukhamela village under Rengali police limits spotted her on Wednesday morning at Hirakud Dam and rescued her. Later, they reported the incident to police. Police admitted the survivor to Lakhanpur Community Health Centre.

Surprisingly, the girl was alive after being swept away for about 50 kms in the water current.
