Odisha Constabulary launch agitation, wear black badges as a token of protest

Bhubaneswar, Sept 21: Demanding the fulfillment of the six-point charter of demands, the members of Odisha Havildar Constable and Sipahi Mahasangh launched agitation today where they wore black badges as a token of protest.

As per sources, Orissa Special Armed Police (OSAP), constables and havildars also joined the protest.

Notably, Prasant Kumar Mahapatra, Mahasangh’s president had earlier informed in a press meet that as a mark of token of protest on September 21 and 22, the members would wear black badges. If the six-point charter of demands including abolition of contractual appointments, differences in salary and allowances, appointment of Class IV employees does not get fulfilled by the government, then 60,000 policemen across the state will resort to cease work stir from September 23 and will continue the stir till their demands are fulfilled.
