No bus strike on Oct 7; the Association declares

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: After the grant of bail to Rushav Kumar Tripathy, the owner of ‘Maharaja’ bus, which slue out of the bridge taking 19 people’s lives, the proposed indefinite bus strike which was decided to begin from October 7 has been called off by the All Odisha Private Bus Owner’s Association. This was informed by Prakash Mishra, President of Association on Wednesday.

It may be noted that, on September 23 Rushav was arrested and on Wednesday, Oct 6 the Angul District and Sessions Judge Court had grant him bail. Claiming the arrest as unlawful, as Rushav had all the valid documents of the Bus, the Association protested the arrest and also observed a 12 hour bandh for two days.

On September 26, a dead line was also served to the Transport Minister, Ramesh Majhi to withdraw back the case otherwise an indefinite strike would start from October 7, the representatives of the Association said to the Minster.

On September 29, a 24 hour bandh was also held by the association bidding the release of Rushav.
