Puri, Oct 16: While taking bath at the sea beach in Puri, two tourists from West Bengal drowned in the sea on Saturday.
As per reports, a strong undercurrent in the beach dragged one person identified as Biswajit Bhattacharya of Veer Bhumi area of West Bengal while he was taking bath at New Marine beach near Swargadwar. The Life Guards present at the beach rescued him and rushed him to the district headquarters hospital where the doctors declared him brought in dead.
The same incident happened at the sea again where another tourist from West Bengal also drowned while taking bath near the Light House beach when a big tide dragged him into the deep waters of the sea. However, the tourist was dead by the time the local fishermen rescued him.
