Fire safety measures; Health department issues notice to 19 hospitals in Sundergarh

Rourkela, Oct 25: To avoid the situation like Sum Hospital fire tragedy from repeating again in future, 19 private hospitals in Sundergarh district have been served notices by health department for completion of fire prevention formalities in the hospital by 31st October. The notice has been issued by the health department.

It is also mentioned in the notice that after the deadline period, all the private hospitals will be scrutinized by a medical team.

As per the information, to take stock of the situation in the hospitals and clinics in the district, the Sundergarh district administration has directed the Chief medical officer of Rourkela Government Hospital and Sundergarh’s Chief District Medical Officer.

The hospital to whom the notice has been served in Rourkela are Sudha Nursing Home, Sai Leprosy Hospital, Asta Mother and Childcare, Hi-tech medical college and hospital, Health Care Hospital, Lifeline, ABM Hospital, Super Speciality Hospital, Vesaj Patel Hospital, Rajastan Seva Sadan, Shanti Memorial Hospital, Om Appolo Hospital, Suraj Hospital, super Hospital and KTH hospital.

Along with this notice, the department has also issued notice to 40 more unregistered hospitals directing them to obtain the registration certificate as soon as possible. As per the CMO, Rourkela, R C Behera, 17 hospitals have already received notice in this regard.
