Ranji Trophy; Odisha draw the match with Delhi on Day 4

Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: Odisha could be able to draw the match with Delhi played at IS Bindra Cricket Stadium, Mohali. Odisha scored 237 in the first innings due to Subhranshu Senapati’s 76 and Biplab Samantaray’s 62. Opening the innings, Captain Goutam Gambhir and Unkukt Chand remain unbeaten on the first day and the first wicket fell on the second day as Unkukt Chand was out for 19 when the team total was 57. Further, Delhi batsmen went on hitting Odisha bowlers and scored 495/8 and declared its first innings. While chasing the huge total, Odisha batsmen started losing wickets in regular intervals after the first wicket fell at team score 11. Odisha captain Goving Poddar’s 56 runs, Biplab Samantaray’ 88 and Saurabh Rawat’s 55 helped Odisha to draw the innings. The team scored 274/8 at stumps on day four. So, the tail-enders put up a solid defence and saved the team from defeat. Delhi got 3 points on the basis of the first innings lead whereas Odisha managed to get one point. Goutam Gambhir declared ‘Man of the Match’.
