Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: A very wonderful Gaudiya Vaisnava, Sanskrit scholar and member of the spiritual family of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura His Grace Sripad Fakir Mohan Das Prabhu has left this world on 18 November 2016 in Bhubaneswar. Das Prabhu was a naistika brahmachari, dressed in white, who chanted one lakh of the holy name everyday. He was the foremost scholar on the life of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura; he re-discovered the family Deities of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Sri Sri Radha-Madhava and was foremost scholar in Sanskrit with a Ph.D. and D.Litt in the Sanskrit language.
Das, 90, was a noted frontiersman of the ISKCON Odisha movement. A former professor at Utkal University, and a bachelor he originally belongs from kendrapda district in Odisha. After retiring from the university he spent the rest of his life researching on the Gaudiya Vaishnava (A religious movement founded by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, to worship Lord Vishnu/Krishna) Literature.
People from all around condoled his death. His Last rites were performed at Puri yesterday.
