Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: Keeping in view the fact that the elderly and the physically challenged people can move around easily on the roads during Patha Utsavs, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has taken the decision to provide battery-operated vehicles at all Patha Utsav venues every week. This was decided when it came to the notice of the Civic body that how the senior citizens and the physically impaired ones have been facing difficulties to go from one Patha Utsav show to the other which is at a stretch of one km of the venue. Hence, these battery-operated vehicle will be available till the programme ended. It will take people from the Master Canteen up to Ram Mandir square.

Further the BMC has also planned to come up with a social media kiosk from which people, who participate in the events, can share their thoughts and pictures and those will be posted on the Facebook page of the festival. Visitors can also add their comments to others’ photographs. Designated officers are to appointed to take pictures and videos of people, which will be posted on the site immediately.

Also a new yoga corner is to be opened by the Ayush wing of the health department.

And to celebrate International Mountain Day next Sunday, a painting contest is going to be organised on this theme. Music and dance shows will be held on the two podiums located at either end of the venue. Around 50 BMC employees are to be recruited to maintain discipline throughout the event. The Commissionerate police has also been requested to maintain a watch on security arrangement on that day.
