24 hours bandh strikes daily living in Puri, Odisha

Puri, Dec 12:  A 24-hour bandh has been resorted at Brahmagiri and Krushnaprasad Blocks in the district by the Puri district Phailin Action Committee allegedly demanding house for the victims affected in the cyclone, affecting the daily life in the district.

Road to Prayagi has been blocked by the members of the committee by burning tyres at various squares. The members have also blocked the NH-316 to Satapada at various places disturbing the vehicular moment on roads, while shops and business houses remain closed.

The committee alleged that none of the people affected by the cyclone have got any compensation, while the State government had assured providing housing of Rs 3.50 lakh. However the victims in Khurda and Ganjam have already been allotted with houses, no such actions have been implemented in Puri yet, said sources.
